Terms of Service & Refund Policy

1 Acceptance of Terms

By installing, activating, or using KeepIt (the "Extension", "Service", "we", "us"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please uninstall and discontinue using the Extension immediately.

2 Description of Service

KeepIt is a productivity Chrome extension created by an independent software developer based in India. It enables users to save open browser tabs as named sessions, preserve native Chrome Tab Groups, organize sessions into custom folders, auto-freeze idle tabs to save RAM, create auto-save recovery snapshots, and optionally sync or share sessions across devices.

3 Accounts & Google Authentication

Basic session management functions locally on your browser without requiring an account. However, to access Cloud Sync, peer-to-peer session sharing, or Pro plan subscriptions, you must authenticate using a valid Google Account via Google OAuth 2.0.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account credentials.
• You agree that all information provided during sign-in is accurate and belongs to you.
• You must be at least 13 years old (or the legal minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use cloud services.

4 Free and Pro Subscription Plans

KeepIt offers both a Free tier and a paid Pro subscription tier with the following feature structures:

We reserve the right to modify plan limits or pricing with reasonable advance notice to active subscribers prior to their next billing cycle.

5 Billing, Payments & Refund Policy

• Payment Processor: All Pro subscription billing is processed directly by our payment gateway and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC. You agree to Lemon Squeezy's independent terms and privacy practices during checkout.
• Automatic Renewal: Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Extension's settings page or Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Upon cancellation, your Pro features remain active until the end of the current paid billing period, after which your account automatically reverts to the Free plan. Cancellation prevents future billing cycles but does not automatically issue a prorated refund for elapsed time in the current cycle.
• 10-Day Money-Back Guarantee (Refunds): We offer a 100% full refund if requested within 7 calendar days of your initial Pro subscription purchase. To request a refund, email us at contact.naveen.work@gmail.com with your subscription details. Automatic subscription renewals beyond the initial 10-day period are non-refundable, except where mandatory under applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
• Failed Payments: If a recurring payment fails, Lemon Squeezy may re-attempt the charge. We reserve the right to suspend Pro access if payment remains uncollected.

6 Ownership of Your Data & Content

Your Content Belongs to You: You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights to all session data, tab titles, URLs, and folders you save or organize using KeepIt. We do not claim any ownership rights over your personal tab data.

Session Sharing Responsibility: If you use the peer-to-peer session sharing feature, you are solely responsible for the links and content contained within the shared session. You represent that you have the necessary rights to share those links and that doing so does not violate any third-party privacy or copyright rights.

7 Acceptable Use & Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the source code of the backend services or edge functions.
• Bypassing or attempting to circumvent Free tier plan limits, Lemon Squeezy checkout validation, or security controls.
• Using KeepIt to store, distribute, or share URLs containing malicious code, phishing schemes, illegal content, or intellectual property infringements.
• Sending spam, unauthorized requests, or automated overload attacks against our backend infrastructure (`*.supabase.co` or Lemon Squeezy APIs).

8 Local Data Disclaimer & Service Availability

Local Storage Disclaimer: Your local sessions, folders, and auto-save snapshots are stored within your browser's isolated storage (`chrome.storage.local`). Uninstalling the extension or clearing Chrome site data will remove local data. We strongly recommend using Cloud Sync or exporting periodic backups for critical sessions.

Service Availability: KeepIt is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for 99.9% uptime, cloud sync and sign-in depend on third-party infrastructure providers (Google, Supabase, Lemon Squeezy). We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of cloud functions.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law in your jurisdiction, KeepIt and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including loss of saved browser tabs, business interruption, lost profits, or data corruption—arising out of or related to your use of the Extension. This includes unsaved input in a tab (such as draft messages or unsubmitted forms) that is lost when the Auto-Freeze feature discards an inactive tab from memory.

In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the total amount paid by you to KeepIt in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim (or $12 USD if on the Free tier).

10 Account Termination

You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling KeepIt and discontinuing its use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate cloud accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent payment activity without prior notice.

11 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the competent courts located in India.

12 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date". Continued use of KeepIt following any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
