If you are searching for a Workona alternative, you probably want one of two things: separate workspaces for each project without running into a plan limit, or a simpler tool that stays focused on tabs. When KeepIt is the better fit
- You want more free workspaces. KeepIt's free plan includes up to 10 spaces, plus unlimited local sessions and folders.
- You want crash recovery included in the free plan. Free includes auto-save snapshots every 3 minutes, a 30-day Trash and version history, and sleeping tabs that save memory.
- You work alone. If you do not need team workspaces, you are not paying for them.
- You care about what an extension can see. KeepIt uses only each tab's title, address and icon. It never reads page contents, what you type or your passwords. What Chrome's history warning means.
- You want to start without an account. Spaces, sessions, auto-save and sleeping tabs work on your device without signing in. You sign in with Google only for cloud sync, sharing and Pro.
When Workona is still the better fit
- Your team works in shared workspaces. KeepIt has no shared team spaces or real-time collaboration.
- You want tasks, notes and app integrations next to your tabs. Workona positions itself as a wider work-management tool. KeepIt only manages tabs and sessions.
How to move from Workona to KeepIt
KeepIt has no Workona importer, so the move is manual, but it is quick for a handful of workspaces:
- Install KeepIt and open its popup.
- Create a space with the same name as one of your Workona workspaces.
- Open that workspace's tabs. KeepIt remembers them, including pinned tabs and tab groups.
- Repeat for each workspace. Use Save to keep a session copy of anything important.
Keep Workona installed until you have checked that everything you need is in KeepIt.
